You know you NEED to start an email list. It’s one of the best ways to communicate with an audience that WANTS to hear from you and to make those sales.
But, where to start?
Check out the actionable steps towards your strategy to get started:
1. Know who your audience before you start typing anything. You should already know or be close to figuring it out. If not, don’t move forward until you do!
2. Choose the right tool for your business. Forget what everyone else is using or how super cool they’re saying it is. If it doesn’t work for YOU, you won’t use it. Believe me, I’ve been there (shiny object syndrome!). Do some research and go with a tool that fits your business needs best.
Check out my blog here for a comparison of a couple of tools to get you started.
3. Your welcome sequence is SO important. These are the first emails your audience will receive after they opt-in to your list. Treat it like nurturing a new friendship!
4. Plan, plan, plan – I cannot stress this enough. Make a plan of how often you will email, when you’ll write your newsletters and when you’ll send. I’ll be going more into this soon, so stay tuned!
5. Don’t stop once you start. And, on that note, don’t start if you can’t commit.
If you have no time to invest in it yourself OR invest in having someone manage it for you, don’t do it. You’ll have an audience that wants to hear from you, then *crickets* because you don’t have the time! Not a good first impression…
Know that it’s so worth it having an audience of people, your virtual people, that want to hear from you each week and look forward to your offers when you present them.
